However, nobody has succeeded in deriving an efficient production system (PS) through partial evaluation. This paper presents the derivation of an efficient PS by partially evaluating a simple PS interpreter, given a set of rules. The derived codes are shown to be very similar to the compiled codes given by [Shintani 88]."
