SO2 absorption cross-section measurements from 197 nm to 240 nm

Absorption cross‐sections are reported for SO2 for wavelengths between 197 nm and 240 nm at a temperature of 300K and a spectral bandwidth of 0.10 nm. The results are in good agreement with those previously given by Warneck et al [1964] if a correction is applied to their wavelength scale. Differences between the present results and the high resolution cross‐sections reported by Freeman et al [1984] at 213K, degraded to a resolution of 0.10 nm, can be attributed to changes in the spectrum with temperature.
