Distribution of n-Paraffins in Marine Belayim Wax Distillate

The present paper deals with the separation and distribution of n‐paraffins in Marine Belayim wax distillate fractions (300–500°C) using molecular sieves adsorption and gas chromatography. The method used consists in dewaxing the wax distillate fractions and selectively adsorbing the n‐paraffins present in the waxes by refluxing their benzene solutions with Type 5 A pelleted molecular sieves. The sieve crystal structure is then destroyed with HF and the liberated n‐paraffins are quantitatively determined.
