Back Cover: Atom Swapping on Aromatic Rings: Conversion from Phosphinine Pincer Metal Complexes to Metallabenzenes Triggered by O2 Oxidation (Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 21/2022)

An atom‐swapping method for the synthesis of metallabenzenes, where a phosphorus atom on phosphinine is replaced by a transition‐metal fragment, is reported by Kyoko Nozaki and co‐workers in their Research Article (e202117096). Swapping of the P atom for Rh or Ir proceeded by oxidation of the phosphorus atom and subsequent reductive cleavage of the C−P bond of the phosphinine ring.
