Zusammenfassung: | This study aimed to determine the growth dynamics and biochemical amounts of two Spirogyra strains in different nutrient media (BG-11 and BBM). The fresh biomass, pigments, proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, fatty acids responses to two different media were examined in terms of fresh biomass, chlorophyll, carotene and lipid productivity. In the 29-day batch culture period, BG-11 exhibited higher values than the BBM in terms of fresh biomass [CCA03Spg01 (4.04±0.031g/mL); CCA03Spg02 (4.65±0.033 g/mL)], total chlorophyll [CCA03Spg01 (29.93±0.27 μg/ml); CCA03Spg02 (24.62±0.26 μg/ml)], and total carotenoid [CCA03Spg01 (2.02±0.07 μg/ml); CCA03Spg02 (1.79±0.11 μg/ml)]. The total protein, carbohydrate and lipid amounts of CCA03Spg01 and CCA03Spg02 were also found high in the BG-11 medium and respectively listed as follows: 55.23% and 61.16% (protein), 44.95% and 37.99% (carbohydrate) and 10.92% and 9.46% (lipid) respectively. Fatty acid profiles have been investigated in two strains and consisted of 31 fatty acids. The basic saturated fatty acid, palmitic acid was CI6:0 for both strains, and its rate was 21.25% for CCA03Spg01 and 20.78% for CCA03Spg02. Monounsaturated fatty acid rate was 19.82% for CCA03Spg01 and 13.06% for CCA03Spg02. The total polyunsaturated fatty acid rate was 39.97% for CCA03Spg01 and 35.01% for CCA03Spg02. These results will form the basis for determining the basic compositions of Spirogyra genus and producing secondary metabolites. |
