桐城派文章可以经世
桐城派文人不仅讲求义法,而且注重经世。所谓经世,在于讲求当世实学,以促发展。《庄子·齐物论》“:春秋经世先王之志。”即是说春秋史实乃先王经纬世事的记载,这些记录下来的文献就是经世之文;范晔《后汉书·西羌列传·论》批评二汉御戎之方“忘经世之远略”,即是要以经世谋远略。陈子龙《明经世文编·序》以“时王所尚,世务所急”为经世文编的选录标准,许誉卿《明经世文编·序》以经世文当于“经济一途”满足“国家卒有缓急”为务。...
