The opening is bounded by resilient fingers which can flex to expand the opening to engage the body of the lancet . Withdrawal of the tool after engagement with the lancet body causes the lancet to be removed from the lancet device. Subsequently, the lancet can be moved from the opening into the interior of the tool . The tool and the removal procedure enables lancets to be removed without risk of injury or infection from contact with the contaminated needle of the lancet |
