description The invention relates to data management and communications, and particularly to providing access to secure data and communication management tools for an enterprise to a plurality of customers over the Internet which is an insecure communications network. The enterprise described is a telecommunications network, and the tools include management and reporting tools to enable the customers of the telecommunication network to manage and obtain reports and data pertaining to their business on the network. A network management system allows a customer to manage communications services using a web server that communicates with a client web browser. The client is able to view information associated with various communications systems and services via the client web browser. The client is also able to submit requests for changes in service to the web server.
