1. Field of the Invention A recording apparatus records a first and a second information signal in a first and a second recording mode, respectively. The apparatus uses two substantially identical processing units () for processing the information so as to obtain a signal suitable for recording. Further, a reproducing apparatus reproduces the signals recorded with the recording apparatus.
