description The invention relates to a device for measuring an electric current ( 1 ) that flows through a strip conductor ( 1 ). The inventive device comprises a measuring conductor ( 3 ) which extends along the current flow direction and in the proximity of a measuring section ( 2 ) of the strip conductor ( 1 ). The one end of said measuring conductor is directly and electrically connected to the one end of the measuring section ( 2 ). The remaining end of said measuring conductor is provided with a first measured value tap ( 4 ). The device comprises a second measured value tap ( 5 ) which is electrical connected to the remaining end of the measuring section ( 2 ). The aim of the invention is to freely select the dimensions of the strip conductor ( 1 ) and the measuring conductor ( 3 ) and especially to use a conventional strip conductor ( 1 ) and to better use said device and have a greater measuring accuracy at the same time. According to the invention, the measuring section ( 2 ) is rectilinear. The second measured value tap ( 5 ) is directly connected to the measuring section ( 2 ). The measuring conductor ( 3 ) is essentially currentless and a voltage (U) is picked up on the measured value taps ( 4, 5 ) as a measure for the current (I) to be measured.
