description Highways and expressway construction projects are riskier than any other construction projects because they need significant financial commitments and complicated site conditions. Even though the current study provides many important insights into the subject, the concerns linked with Indian highway construction have been disregarded. The purpose of this paper is to find out the risk variable through questionnaire research, influencing India’s effective highway development performance in terms of quality, schedule, and expenses. Through this study, we were able to derive those changes in scope of work, delays in construction activities, unforeseen ground utilities, ineffective planning, and poor construction quality are all major risk concerns in Indian highway project construction. During the planning stage this study will help the field engineers and project managers to use the identified and prioritized risks to build an appropriate risk mitigation strategy.
