description | The Own-Children Method is a kind of procedure to estimate the birth rate in age specific fertility rate before doing the census or survey. This method separates the biological children who have been born alive with the non-biological children. In Indonesia to use this method needs the data microdata from Population Census or Sensus Penduduk (SP) or Survei Antar Sensus (SUPAS). Biro Pusat Statistik (BPS) usually count the data of Total Fertility Rate (TFR) for national scope or for the province level, while for the district level, it has never been done. If we do not have the data from SP or SUPAS on the district level, so we cannot count the TFR of this district level by The Own-Children Method. This research will estimate the TFR of woman population in Purwakarta using Indirect Method. The data used is the population of 0–4-year-old in 2020 Population Census (SP). Assuming the table of Mortality at Level 21 and the population 0–4-year-old is 83.127, so the estimation of Total Fertility Rate (TFR) in District of Purwakarta is 2,23 children per woman. TFR itself counted from the Age Specific Fertility Rate (AFSR). |
