Zusammenfassung:Architecture could be developed through a particular social thought governed by the culture of that society, because it acquires its particularity from the geography, language, history and economy of that society. However, architecture could optionally be developed from circumstantial situations of people’s lives. Its final form could be epitomized in an exceptional language appropriate to the nature of the emergency circumstance. Among these emergency conditions in human life are wars, earthquakes, floods and so on. The relationships between architecture and the society, culture, politics, economy and peace or war was demonstrated in history, and it has become a cognitive necessity to show the impact of intellectual inputs to wars on architectural production. Therefore, the current research aims to survey the intellectual concepts of wars and explain their influential role on the architectural production. With this, the architect will have a clear vision to make the appropriate decision in the reconstruction of war-stricken cities. The research problem is: There seems to be no cognitive clarity of the impact of intellectual concepts on the product of post-war architecture, and its role in making the appropriate decision for the reconstruction of war-stricken cities. To address the problem, the researcher adopted the analytical and deductive approach to explain the intellectual concepts affecting the product of post-war architecture and its manifestations, and to elicit its influential role in the emergence of the architectural product. Several war-stricken cities are analyzed in the current study. It was found that the impact of intellectual changes and inputs on architecture is sometimes positive, yet at other times, it was found to be negative. Also, it was sometimes defensive as a reaction depending on the intellectual concepts generated by the war-stricken society.
