Zusammenfassung:Submarines are an integral part of defense of a country. Submarines help the country in defending the threats that come from the water. Submarines generally travel underwater. The submarines use radio waves or sonar to help in knowing its location and the positions of the obstacles and the enemy ships and submarines. It requires antenna to send and receive signals underwater. Since it is underwater and also travelling in great depths of water so the antenna can’t be exposed in the open, it requires a covering. The name of this covering is called the radome (radar-dome). The radome protects the antenna from the hydrostatic force exerted on the antenna. It also protects it from the natural elements. In thi s project we have modelled the radome using the solid works software and the analysis is done in the Ansys software. The materials taken are fibre reinforced polymers because of their high strength to weight ration and its non corrosive nature. Structural and modal analysis is performed to get the best suited material to for the radome.
