Laboratory experiments on unilateral freezing of sand samples

The paper considers laboratory experiments on unilateral freezing of samples of dry and wet sand. Freezing was carried out in the refrigerator under the influence of a cooling thermal plate from above. Thermometry of frozen sand samples was performed. As a result, the propagation velocity of the cold wave in the samples, the movement of the freezing front and the duration of the phase transition are estimated. Mathematical modeling of the sample cooling process was also performed.
