Zusammenfassung: | Synthesize silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using chitosan from crustacean shells which are abundant in North Sumatra and environmentally friendly, can be used as stabilizers and reducing agents. AgNPs samples were analyzed and characterized using UV-visible spectrophotometer, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The results of the UV-visible absorption spectrum showed that the addition of chitosan could increase the efficiency of AgNPs formation. Moreover, XRD analysis clearly illustrates that under the reaction conditions, the action of silver has been reduced to AgO by stabilizing chitosan. SEM analysis confirmed the surface morphology and size of the synthesized silver nanoparticles. In addition, AgNPs synthesized with chitosan can be used to control microbial activity such as bacterial and fungal growth. |
