Zusammenfassung: | This paper discusses the design of a buoy that can be used for harvesting shoreline wave energy. The focus of this study is to design and construct an axially magnetized linear generator that is able to charge a rechargeable battery at an appreciable speed by transforming the horizontal motion of surface waves into electrical energy. The charging system is positioned inside a waterproof casing and operated on both controlled and uncontrolled environments for the comparison of its measured parameters such as voltage, current, and power at different wave conditions. The results showed that operating the charging system in an environment with wave height of about 1 foot generates 9.819 V peak value on average and is able to fully charge a 1200 mAh rechargeable battery in a span of 2.13 hrs. The obtained equation of the percentage of battery in uncontrolled environment is %Battery = 32.97e0.00684t and the SSE is equal to 14.8406, which is assured that the design is accurate and fit to the data gathered. |
