description DNA concentration and purification are the major criteria for analysis of gelatin sources using molecular technique such as DNA-based method. In this study, DNA from heated and non-heated of different types of gelatin samples were extracted using commercial kit. The measurements of concentration and purity from heated and non-heated samples were compared. The result has highlighted that heated samples yield higher DNA concentration compared to non-heated samples. In terms of DNA purity, non-heated samples were found to be lower than the expected A260/A280 interval values of 1.8-2.2. Besides, coefficient variation (CV) also has been used to compare variability between different steps.
