Zusammenfassung:Without a doubt, decision making process is one of the common problems that arise in daily life of human being. However, this problem cannot be taken lightly as the consequences of making wrong decision are unpredictable. Thus, for some people several precautions had been taken including using a proper tools during the decision making process. One of them is by using Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) method. In this paper, the elements that needed in the MCDM method are clarified. The urgency to understand the elements in MCDM is due to the fact that the decision making process are not only involved in only one sector for example in Human Resource Management, but it also involved with many sectors or areas. Hence, it is important for decision makers to identify the elements that needed during the decision making process. Based on the well-known MCDM methods such as Hamming distance method and in depth review on the previous researches, a short review on each element that exists in some MCDM methods are identified. By understanding these elements, it is hoped that this will help the decision makers in understanding their problem and later can be used to construct a new or an improved decision making method that cater their need.
