Zusammenfassung:At a time when a serious water shortage confronted Cape Town, investigation revealed that the Steenbras Dam, the City's main source of water supply, required strengthening because of inadequate spillway capacity. Construction of a new 6,000,000 dam and pipeline had already been initiated, but immediate interim measures were essential to avoid the imposition of drastic water restrictions with consequent set back to the City's development.
