The preparation, spectroscopic and structural characterisation of a [Sn(OPMe 3 ) 3 (CF 3 SO 3 ) 2 ] 6 , a Sn( ii )-based metallocyclic hexamer, containing hydrophobic CF 3 -lined 8.0 Å diameter channels is reported.
