Zusammenfassung:Herein, a novel 3D metal-organic ligand consisting of a folded Ru( ii )-connected tetrameric cycle and two sets of 60° juxtaposed bisterpyridine arms was synthesized and its complexation with Zn 2+ gave rise to dendritic-faced metallo-octahedron 6. Remarkably, octahedron 6 displayed unexpected photosensitization ability that could produce singlet oxygen ( 1 O 2 ) under white light irradiation.
