RESULTS Serum levels of galectin-3 at admission and after 48 hours were significantly higher in AP cases compared with non-AP individuals. The area under the curve (AUC) for galectin-3 was 73.1%, which revealed a good accuracy in predicting the AP diagnosis. CONCLUSION Serum levels of galectin-3 at admission and after 48 hours were significantly higher in AP cases, and their diagnostic value was acceptable in the detection of AP.
