In this review, an overview of both the established and emerging methods for photochemical peptide macrocyclisation is presented, highlighting both the limitations and opportunities for further innovation in the field. Recent developments have allowed photochemical reactions to move to the forefront of the search for new strategies for peptide macrocyclisation. Here, these developments and emerging photochemistries are reviewed, highlighting the opportunities to further innovate in this rapidly expanding field.
