Zusammenfassung: | Hepatocellular adenomas (HCA) are rare benign livertumors. Recent technological advancements have helpedin the early identification of such lesions. However, precise diagnosis of hepatocellular incidentalomasremains challenging. Studies at the molecular levelhave provided new insights into the genetics and pathophysiologyof these lesions. These in turn have raisedquestions over their existing management modalities. However, the rarity of the tumor still restricts the qualityof evidence available for current recommendationsand guidelines. This article provides a comprehensivereview on the etiology, molecular biology, pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, and complicationsassociated with HCA. It also elaborates on the geneticadvancements, existing diagnostic tools and currentguidelines for management for such lesions. |
