A 17-year old patient with DOCK8 deficiency, severe oral HSV-1 and aggressive periodontitis – A case of virally induced periodontitis?

Highlights • We present a case of severe oral HSV-1 infection in a patient with DOCK8 deficiency. • We document severe periodontitis and bone loss in this young patient. • HSV-1 infection appears to exacerbate periodontal destruction in this patient.
