Concurrent intramedullary and intracranial tuberculomas in a child with tubercular meningitis

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain revealed multiple ring/disc enhancing lesions with T2W hypointense core and hyperintense rim scattered in the cerebrum, cerebellum, brainstem and intramedullary region of cervical cord at the C3/4 level, along with spinal cord arachnoiditis and basal exu...

Zusammenfassung:Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain revealed multiple ring/disc enhancing lesions with T2W hypointense core and hyperintense rim scattered in the cerebrum, cerebellum, brainstem and intramedullary region of cervical cord at the C3/4 level, along with spinal cord arachnoiditis and basal exudates ( fig 1 ). Magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) showed a high peak of lipids, increased choline, low N-acetylaspartate and creatine with choline/creatine ratio >1. [...]a diagnosis of central nervous system TB was established.
