Multihalogenated Zn phthalocyanine as a precursor for porous Zn-N 4 -C carbons toward electrocatalytic oxygen reduction

Multihalogenated Zn phthalocyanine, a commonly used color filter pigment, when pyrolyzed under NH atmosphere, produces porous carbon powders containing Zn-N coordination sites that exhibit high electrocatalytic O reduction reaction (ORR) performance with long-term stability and chemical resistance.
