Despite advances in DES technology, PCI in diabetic patients remains associated with a higher risk of adverse outcomes than in non-diabetic patients, but the long-term outcome results from recently published and ongoing large-scale randomized studies investigating novel DES designs may reshape the landscape of coronary revascularization for diabetic patient.
