Zusammenfassung: | Enthoven et al discusses about the ecological momentary interventions and if the smartphone use can result in less myopia. Ecological momentary interventions (EMI) have become increasingly popular in health research since the introduction of smartphones. The purpose of an EMI is to intervene in an individual's natural environment by providing feedback or encouraging behavior at predefined moments in daily life. These interventions have the potential to extend therapy from the physician's clinic to patients' daily lives and may be tailored to individual patients. Although research on the effectiveness of tailored messages is still scarce, untailored daily messages are a promising method to improve health behaviors, as shown by increased fruit and vegetable intake in young adults with low levels of consumption after implementing EMIs. |
