Zusammenfassung:The UK is a multi-ethnic, multicultural society with over 300 languages spoken in the capital (London) alone. This short report explores the implications of a diverse population on health and access to genetic services. It considers genetic, cultural and linguistic differences, and provides evidence of inequalities in access. Following recent legislation promoting race equality, the report highlights current activities and shortfalls, and proposes recommendations towards achieving greater equity of access within the context of clinical genetics service provision.
