Zusammenfassung: | The admission process for many postsecondary institutions was not fundamentally designed to promote equity. It was especially not designed to put students' needs at the center of the process, let alone to give them the decision-making power in institutional policies and practices. The year 2020, punctuated by a racial reckoning and pandemic, presented the higher education sector with an opening to completely reorganize its entrenched practices. To advance this critical recommendation, the ad hoc committee created a comprehensive report identifying opportunities for student engagement regarding equity in college admission practice and policy. To ensure that these opportunities can be operationalized, the committee created both a model and a framework for engaging historically underrepresented students in these processes. |
