The view from here: Chasing Galileo unity

The failure of leading ESA members - and, indeed, the failure of ESA itself - to overcome nationalistic reflexes in advancing a transnational project conjures farreaching consequences. It does not merely undercut the timely creation of Galileo and threaten to create the immeasurable cost of opportunities lost. It does not merely exacerbate the hardships being experienced by Europe's aerospace industry It puts at risk a unifying vision of EU/ESA collaboration in space enshrined in a 2001 agreement.
