In a recent survey, past winners of these awards shared insights about the exam. Feedback from the individuals suggests that passing the CIA exam is perceived as passable by candidates who seriously study, although opinions differ as to whether or not practical experience is necessary prior to taking the exam. Advice for passing the Certified Internal Auditor exam include: 1. Focus on prior exam questions. 2. Follow standard advice for taking standardized/certification tests. 3. Consider a coaching course, especially if you do not have much experience.
