Other voices: Open proxy balloting

A majority of Americans believe that corporations are not doing a very good job when it comes to corporate citizenship - and this was true even before the Enron scandal. Interestingly, this skepticism about corporations comes at a time when Americans own more corporate shares than at any other time in history. The solution involves proxy voting, the often overlooked but key mechanism through which shareholders can play a role in corporate governance.
