2005 Private Placement Lure Investors AnewThe Private Placement Letter survey shows a resurgence of investor interest

There was a resurgence of interest in private placements in 2005, according to the just-released results of Private Placement Letter's annual buy-side survey. The investment pace increased by 15.2% from a sluggish 2004, as it jumped to a total of $50.1 billion vs. $43.5 billion invested in 2004. Total investments in traditional private placements amounted to $39.3 billion, compared with $34.6 billion in 2004, while total investments in 144A transactions totaled $10.8 billion, compared with $8.8 billion in 2004, according to the survey.
