Baka v. Hungary (Eur. Ct. H.R.)

[...]the newly established Kúria has essentially the same powers and competences as the former Supreme Court, and all judges remained in their positions on the court--except for Baka. [...]the new Organization and Administration of the Court Act8(adopted by Parliament in 2011) introduced a new criterion for the election of the new president of the Kúria, requiring the president to have at least five years of experience as a judge in Hungary. According to this criterion, time served as a judge of an international court was not counted. [...]the ECtHR considered that the changes made to the tasks of the president of the supreme judicial body of Hungary were not of such a fundamental nature that they should or could have prompted the termination of Baka's mandate.
