Zusammenfassung:Das et al present a case of a 13-year-old African American male with acute onset of paraplegia. They highlight the need for early diagnosis of rhabdomyosarcoma and stress the importance of looking for and immediately following up any signs or symptoms of cord compression to decrease the risk of permanent neurological injury. Surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy are all used as emergency measures to decrease tumor size and avoid long-term neurological complications.
