THE FUTURE OF ENGLISH RAILWAYS

THE past few weeks have seen a substantial rise in the price of English railway prior-charge stocks. To some extent the rise is an act of faith, and faith, as we know, is the evidence of things not seen. No figures of receipts and expenditure have been published since those of last July.
