Zusammenfassung:Using as an example the broad class of materials with body-centered or face-centered cubic lattice, it is shown that the failure micro-mechanisms of metallic materials subjected to single-pass forms of loading are interrelated, as are the number and dimensions of the plastic zones and structural changes in the materials in these zones with local stressed states of the material at the apex of a crack. It is suggested that the type of crystalline lattice which a particular material possesses should be taken into account in determining the conditions of plastic strain by means of the t /( K 1 c /σ 0.2 ) 2 criterion.
