description This research aims at putting in place an educational structure for teaching English at the Cycle 3 level of French elementary school, based on the socio-constructivist theories of learning & the simultaneous application of didactic narration in French & English. The program, which is designed for the "CM2" grade level, is based on a double hypothesis. The first hypothesis asserts that students who study & learn a story in this fashion not only develop comprehension & production skills in the foreign language, but also build new thinking skills at a more general level. The second hypothesis considers that coordinating the didactics of learning a story in French & English promotes the discovery of knowledge by students about language in general, permits them to reactivate & to consolidate their knowledge & mastery of French in particular, & introduces foreign language learning in a context that creates meaning for the student. 1 Appendix, 21 References.
