Zusammenfassung:The following article examines Los cristeros, written by Jose Guadalupe de Anda, from a theoretical perspective that embraces gender study & discourse analysis & provides a description of the proverbs that appear in the text. The objective of using all these elements of analysis is to provide a different approach for the cristera genre. The importance of women's participation in the religious movement from 1926 to 1929 is best expressed in the cristera novels. This is the reason why the study of the interaction between female characters in Los cristeros plays a fundamental role in the interpretation proposed. Likewise, the analysis embraces the performance of the remaining characters & their connection with popular language. As a result, De Anda's aesthetic interests & his way of observing the historical event from a novelistic fiction point of view are highlighted. 31 References. Adapted from the source document
