Technical Note: Perl for Literary and Linguistic Computing

The purpose of this note is to draw attention to Perl, a scripting language which is readily available for Unix systems. Perl has many features which make it an excellent choice for a variety of tasks in literary and linguistic computing. A number of tutorial examples are presented.
