Radiological changes in the urinary tract in S haemoglobinopathy. A review of 80 patients presenting with haematuria

The radiological changes in 80 patients with HbS presenting with haematuria are reported and comparison made with previous reports. Some clinical and pathological aspects are discussed. The importance of renal papillary necrosis due to renal ischaemia secondary to erythrocyte sickling is stressed.
