The number of occurrences - 45 in all - that had been presented by Kurt Ranke in 1954 can be increased by further attestations, among which we find a source used by the Brothers Grimm for their collections as well as numerous adaptations and traces in poetical works from Romanticism to Expressionism. // ABSTRACT IN FRENCH: Le vers de danse de s'avère la couche de texte la plus ancienne de la légende attestée pour la première fois en 1605. Aux 45 textes présentés par Kurt Ranke en 1954 s'ajoutent, entre autres, une source utilisée par les frères Grimm pour leurs collections ainsi que de nombreuses adaptations et traces dans des oeuvres poétiques du romantisme à l'expressionisme.
