Cholecystoenteric and cystohepatic ducts

1.1. Two congenital anomalies of the biliary tract observed in one patient have been presented.2.2. A cholecystoenteric duct, entering the pars superior of the duodenum, is the only documented case described in the literature of a cystic duct draining individually into the duodenum. An illustration of such an anomaly without commentary or authentication has previously been cited.3.3. A cystohepatic duct, entirely extrahepatic, functions as the exclusive conveyer of bile to the gallbladder. This duct, too, is unique in modern literature.4.4. An attempt has been made to interpret developmentally these two sequential anomalous ducts.5.5. The need for surgeons to be cognizant of the abnormalities and variations of biliary tract anatomy is stressed.
