Zusammenfassung: | The radiographic anatomy of the maxilla as seen in occlusal views was investigated with radiopaque markers, disarticulated bones, serial sections and skulls with certain bones removed. Contributions from the maxilla and inferior concha to the naso-lacrimal canal were located and the controversial ring shadow identified as the lower end of the canal. Its upper end cast no detectable image. The manner of projection of the curved plate forming the lateral wall and floor of the inferior meatus as a linear shadow, and its relationships to nose and antrum were demonstrated. The images of the inferior concha and anterior bony aperture of the nose were defined. |
