Intestinal Adenomatosis in the Pig: A Bacteriological Study

The isolation of Campylobacter (Vibrio) sputorum subsp. mucosalis from the lesions of porcine intestinal adenomatosis is described. Zusammenfassung:The isolation of Campylobacter (Vibrio) sputorum subsp. mucosalis from the lesions of porcine intestinal adenomatosis is described. Characters for the differentiation of this organism from the vibrios previously associated with swine dysentery are given, hnnumofluores-cent studies indicate that C. sputorum subsp. mucosalis is the bacterium previously observed intracellularly in our cell ultrastructural studies. This organism was not recovered from normal intestines or from intestinal tissue in pigs with swine dysentery.
