Metrological Support for Selecting Mode of Photon Therapy

Improvement of methods of remote and contact radiation therapy based on the use of dose distribution hardware makes it necessary to provide metrological monitoring of the dose value. International recommendations on the positioning of the dose point require the scattered radiation to be taken into account. Thus, the dose accumulation factor becomes dependent on the shape and size of the radiation field. The paper presents experimental data on the variability of the photon radiation accumulation factor.
