Zusammenfassung: | Odontogenic keratocysts have recently been recognized as a separate group among odontogenic cysts. In a series of 78 odontogenic keratocysts from 66 patients, males were affected twice as commonly as females and there was a wider age range in males. There was a characteristic propensity for the keratocysts to occur in the posterior region of the body of the mandible. The clinical and pathological findings are detailed. Reference is made to the high rate of recurrence associated with odontogenic keratocysts and to the importance of their distinction from other odontogenic cysts. |
